Our founders and creators have witnessed first-hand the powerful impact an education can have. The Simo Foundation is dedicated to improving standard of education in Kouopou and all of Cameroon.

By starting in elementary school, we aim to help students develop traits for success beyond the classroom. The students we support have been accepted to public middle/secondary school at the top of their class. Our yearly renewable scholarships provide support for those who have worked hard and will continue to do so. The most deserving students will further their education, become productive members of society, and elevate the economic level of their family and community.

Educating children gives the next generation the tools to fight poverty and prevent disease, including malaria and AIDS.

UNICEF and STJF advocate high-quality, child-friendly basic education for all, with an emphasis on gender equality and eliminating disparities of all kinds. Educating girls, in particular, has a ‘multiplier effect’. Educated girls are more likely to marry later and have fewer children, who in turn will be more likely to survive and to be better nourished and educated. Educated women are more productive at home and better paid in the workplace, and more able to participate in social, economic and political decision-making.
